Spain, Pt. 1

It was one year and one month ago that I initially set off to Spain. I took many photos that I still plan to release in some form or another, but I want a way to show off the photos I don’t think fit into any larger project. I also want to document my time there. I’ll do both of those here.

I booked our train from Madrid to Oviedo four hours after our plane was to land in case we were delayed, but we actually arrived in Spain early and had much time to kill. We had breakfast and wandered around the district that surrounds Madrid-Chamartín train station.

The train ride was taxing. While it was only three hours to reach the far north of the country by high speed rail, not sleeping on the red-eye left me sensitive and uncomfortable. The train’s vending machines were also out of order, so I was left to bear the motion sickness I was feeling without even water.

Oviedo was beautiful and much larger, or at least more dense, than I anticipated. However, I had been awake for close to 24 hours by the time we arrived and was at that point delirious. After eating, we went to bed at 7PM local time and slept for around 12 hours.
